Mary Campbell and Michael Kennedy were married at The Westmoor Farm on Nantucket. They had a gorgeous fall day and their wedding was absolutely fantastic! I had the pleasure of getting to know them before the wedding and photographing their rehearsal dinner the night before at The Jetties. I asked Mary about how they met years before….
“We met twelve years ago while we were both in high school. We were in a summer program in Washington, D.C., working as Senate Pages, but I lived in Alaska and Michael lived in Boston. We didn’t see each other again until seven years later after we had both gone to college and we were living in New York, where we reconnected and started dating. After that Michael spent a winter living in Jackson Hole, WY, and then we both moved to D.C. and and we’ve been having loads of fun together ever since!”
How they chose Nantucket for their wedding….
“Michael has been coming to Nantucket most of his life. When we started dating he kept telling me how much I would love the island and he couldn’t have been more right. Having grown up in Alaska, Nantucket feels like home with the same beautiful and natural setting. Nantucket has the combination of being classic and elegant, but also relaxed and fun, which we wanted to be reflected in our wedding. We come to Nantucket as frequently as possible and it’s a special place for both of us now, where we have made many great memories with family and friends. We’re excited to spend many more years on the island as a married couple and with our family.”
Mary and Michael both got ready at The Westmoor Farm and the moment they walked out to do a first look the sun came out! From there we did a little photo cruise around town in an antique car they had rented. Their ceremony and reception was at The Westmoor Farm. As everyone entered the tent the couple was announced and shared their first dance as husband and wife. After the first dance we were treated to several heartfelt and hilarious speeches. This wedding was also full of incredible energy and dance moves. They brought in Michael Antonia of The Flashdance from L.A. he was incredible. When the groom busted out a full on handstand I knew it was going to be a super fun night! I am so happy for Mary & Michael and looking forward to seeing them again on Nantucket in the future!
